Current Work
I'm currently spending most of my time working through Full Stack open, a well-regarded, hands-on, full-stack web development MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) offered by the University of Helsinki in cooperation with organizations like Unity, Terveystalo, and Smartly.io. This course assumes good programming skills, basic knowledge of web programming and databases, knowing how to use Git, perseverance, a capacity for solving problems, and a capacity for seeking information independently. I believe I check off all of these boxes.
The course uses the ubiquitous MERN tech stack to build out its applications, and associated technologies like Postman, Mongoose, and Jest.
Why am I going through Full Stack open, in specific? Simply put, the course allows me to leverage my very-related, professional experience developing web applications at NASA, and naturally build my skills from that experience. Ideally, I'd like to integrate the skills learned and practiced from my work at NASA with everything I am doing in Full Stack open, making me a much stronger developer overall.
